Kristin Chenoweth Regrets Not Pressing Charges On CBS & Claims Hair Extension Saved Her From Getting “Practically Killed”

Kristin Chenoweth, an American actress and singer, joined the crew of CBS’s The Good Wife in 2012 and played the part of Peggy Byrne, a regular cast member. Sadly, while filming an episode in Brooklyn, the actress was struck by a part of lighting gear and suffered severe injuries that made it difficult for her to perform in the show.

Chenoweth initially discussed her injury ten years after the event. In the 2022 article compilation My Moment: 106 Women on Fighting for Themselves, she described the specifics. The star recently said to Andy Cohen that she regretted not suing CBS while speaking on Watch What Happens Live!

In the series of essays, Chenoweth writes, “My ribs were broken. I had a fractured skull, a broken nose, and a few shattered teeth. Not to mention the neural, tissue, and muscle damage I would have to deal with in the days, weeks, months, and years that followed, those were only the damages which were clearly visible on X-rays.”

She went on, “I was warned that if I sued a mainstream network, I would never work again. And I was afraid. I succumbed to fear and did what a lot of others, particularly women, do when confronted with an opponent who or what is much more dominant than them. I shriveled.”

The singer continued, “I don’t even really care if CBS will give a job again because I’m telling my side of the story about what happened. They took advantage of the authority they had over someone like me while knowing how terribly I had been injured. A working actor  is the operative term here.”

She added, “Sadly, the people in charge at CBS at the time did not accept responsibility for what transpired, but now that a new administration has taken over, it’s a pleasure to work with them. Leadership is important. ” Then Chenoweth reiterated her remorse for not suing CBS during a recent interview on Watch What Happens Live.

The celebrity hesitantly nodded her head no when Cohen inquired if she had received any contact from CBS. Chenoweth then explained why she decided against suing the network. She stated: “I didn’t act out of stress and fear. So never let fear take control of your actions.” Chenoweth noted that the incident “practically killed her” before stating, “I got permanent injuries from that.” I wish I had taken my dad’s advice when he said, “You’re going to want to do this,” she stated.

The celebrity then delved further into the incident, even recalling the exact moment it transpired. “I heard what sounded like a flagpole. I heard the exact words, “We’re losing the light.” I woke up after hearing ‘Action’ at Bellevue hospital.” ” She went on, “I was thrown onto a curb after being struck in the face by it. teeth, My ribs, and teeth were broken, and my skull and hairline were cracked.” The celebrity said that her metal hair extensions were what kept her alive. She stated: “My hair extensions took most of the blow from the lighting equipment.
